My back to work transition and faux pas!

My back to work transition and faux pas!

Having now been back at work for three weeks after my long spell as a stay at home dad there are a number of observations I would like to share, 1,Having a “lets just see how the day pans out” attitude does not work, people get a little annoyed when you don’t show up for meetings and arrive and leave when you wish. 2, Naptime is no more, at least in the pure sense. It now consists of head nodding and…

Hotels, holidays and the pre/post baby time shift..

Hotels, holidays and the pre/post baby time shift..

Having recently been away for the weekend to celebrate the birthday of Mrs Funkdydaddy I got to thinking about the differences between before and after baby. This was the little lady’s fifth hotel stay in just 8 1/2 months, lucky girl, this also gave me perspective. Leaving on the Friday for a quick 2 hour drive we all had the buzz of anticipation even though it was a hotel we had stayed at 4 times previous. When we arrived my…

Are you part of the 68% bored by your kids?

Are you part of the 68% bored by your kids?

I had planned to pen a new post today on a different topic but saw this and found it extremely relevant and interesting to me. According to the UK “this morning” show today only 32% of viewers were never bored by their children, http://www.itv.com/thismorning/hot-topics/poll-have-you-been-bored-by-your-children Having been a stay at home dad for 4 months now I can quite safely put myself into the 32% who don’t find their kid boring. Of course I am never going to debate world politics, the…

Rhythm and Rhyme at definitely the wrong time!

Rhythm and Rhyme at definitely the wrong time!

Having been attending rhythm and rhyme for the past 12 weeks with quite a degree of comfort from day one, as detailed previously when i first went http://wp.me/p5DoG8-a , this week was a nightmare. I had to go to the earlier class due to my hindrance of a broken hand leading to me not being able to drive and relying on favours. No big deal or so I thought, it`s routine now……is it not? My problems began when we had our now…

A new beginning, sort of…Updated 260115

Hi Guys, quick first post. I have plenty of blog ideas going on particularly with the broken hand,  the baby being more mobile every day and this (anything but easy) switch to self hosted. Starting to think I should have waited longer but c`est la vie as they say. I`m going to spend a few days when I get a minute making my new site my own so there will be fewer new posts for a few days so please…

Those heart stopping baby moments…….and the comical..

As parents we have all had those moments when your baby literally stops your heart.. I’m not talking about the obvious cute babble, looks, words or actions which can be heart warming whilst taking you breath away, I’m talking the moments when you quite literally stop breathing for a second when things maybe have went wrong.. An example would be when your baby first comes home and you stare at the monitor at night panicking when you don’t hear/see movement, or…

A bell, a bauble and a baby at Christmas!

A bell, a bauble and a baby at Christmas!

What a magical day yesterday as we saw the delight on our Daughters face as she saw the Christmas tree at home for the first time. She even had her own special bauble and bell  to place on the tree and being the clever girl she is she picked where she wanted them (down around her height!). What a great day and I feel brilliant knowing that we made the right decision for me to go on to additional paternity…
