Rhythm and Rhyme at definitely the wrong time!

Rhythm and Rhyme at definitely the wrong time!

Having been attending rhythm and rhyme for the past 12 weeks with quite a degree of comfort from day one, as detailed previously when i first went http://wp.me/p5DoG8-a , this week was a nightmare.

I had to go to the earlier class due to my hindrance of a broken hand leading to me not being able to drive and relying on favours. No big deal or so I thought, it`s routine now……is it not? My problems began when we had our now routine fight getting Sarah dressed this morning in her new “4 piece” outfit. ( she hates dressing, do all babies?!?!?) But that`s a story for another day.

So we are now running late with an impatient relative waiting to drive us there, we get there late and my usual seat beside the window which is slightly cooler is gone ( who would have thought a library room full of kids and parents could get so warm, even in winter) and the only seats left were beside the ladies who run the session with such passion, not a great start.

Now in my haste to sit down quickly I didn`t get a chance to look around and give a usual nod of hello to anyone I have got to know, ,at least on head nodding terms, who may have caught the early class, To my horror there was not a single person I recognised and no one acknowledged as I smiled while scanning the room. Now its panic time, I am sweating already and sitting beside teacher with the focus of the group to turn to me in the next few minutes.

Then the ladies come in who take the class, relief I thought at least they know me and will have a quick chat or comment to break the ice, but no the ladies who take the earlier class are different from the later class so they look at this new person perched right beside their platform to perform, and I was the only man which helped me to stand out just a little more! It just capped a fine morning when they started their little jovial songs and rhymes none of which I had heard in the other class as they sing from a different music set it seems, at this stage I though take the occasional odd look and smile and get out as quick as possible, it cant get any worse.

It was only when I got home and was having a chuckle whilst changing the little one that I noticed I had her leggings which matched her pretty new outfit back to front which would have been very obvious to anyone near me, I did two things then, laughed and vowed never to go to the early class ever again!

  1. A four piece outfit!? I struggle with two! Love the fact you’ve got your own designated spot!! Why are library’s so hot?! Enjoyed this post! Glad I’m not the only one experiencing things like this!

    1. Thanks Al, I was initially apprehensive going to first class but find them ok then yesterday! The heat I think probably comes from too many people in a small room. Think there may be a stand off if anyone steals my seat again!

  2. There were a few dad at a group I used to attend with my second and we all became firm friends, really added something as these all women groups can sometimes feeling isolating, especially if you are late to join and everyone has made mates. Thanks for linking up to #brilliantblogposts x

    1. The later group I go to has a few dad’s and even a grandad, can be so funny watching us all singing the wheels on the bus..
